marla tellez is joining us right now. she arrived on scene just a moment ago and has brand new details for us. >> reporter: i just got briefed by a police officer who gives us brand new information, as you just mentioned. he said that a woman in this apartment complex, living in this apartment complex at the intersection of high and hawthorne street, where you can still see plenty of police officers this morning, this woman called police at 2:20 this morning saying that a man -- she woke up to find a man in her apartment. she screamed, she called 911 and the man allegedly just took off on foot. there is an active search going on right now. they let out the police dogs, this is what they tell us, for a canine search in the area and did not come up with any suspects at this point. the good news is that the woman is downtown at the police station right now giving police a better statement. she is not hurt so that is the good news here. in terms of information regarding this male suspect, police were not able to give us any i
